Yee-Haw! The Jays Is On TBS!

The brain trust at TBS (pictured above) have released the first part of the schedule for their inauguaral season of Sunday Afternoon Baseball. Apparently they've taken Chris Berman's advice to heart and have decided to load up early on deux-deux-deuxs, because it turns out they'll be kicking things off at Rogers Centre. Frankly, I can't really blame them. I imagine it would require many suitcases full of codeine for a man to endure the prospect of spending every Sunday for six months with Chip Caray. Or Skip Carey. Whoever the fuck it is. Jesus... either one of them.

Adding immensely to the entertainment that afternoon will be the fact that this is "one of them games whar they's sold tickets to t'other team." Yes, the date in question is April 6th, and Jays' opponents will be the Boston Red Sox. If everything goes the way I expect, the stands will be full of Massholes in the grip of their first Berman-inspired dance with "Canadian Aspirin."

Oh man! This has so much potential to look real fucking good on Godfrey. Shit, I might even have to dig out the old '86 ALCS Champions shirt that my dad brought back from a business trip to Boston when I was six. Doesn't matter which side they're on as long as they're paying, eh Paul? (Well, I won't really be paying-- at least not for the seats I'll be sitting in-- but that's a different story).

It'll be quite the public relations coup to have all of baseball see how accomodating the Jays can be to visiting fans, won't it? Maybe once other teams will see how close all those Massholes can get to the action they'll start to think about how great it would be for their own fans to come up for a pleasant little picnic at Rogers Centre. Shit, maybe in 2009 the first tickets can be offered up to fans in every city!

Except Toronto, of course.

Once again, well done, fuckjobs. (Oh, and thanks to Awful Announcing for the tip.)

except my cable took away TBS (conviently the day before the playoffs last season) and instead I have something called Peachtree TV. Which is fun for reruns of Sanford and Son, but not for baseball.

I hate Peachtree TV. They don't play Saved by the Bell every morning like TBS used to.

I'm pretty sure I get TBS HD over here, so this is a big plus for me.

Why are Adam, Casey and Luke dressed up like that? Was it Friday or something?

I hope my Rogers overlords will have supplied me with TBSHD by this time.
