The Podcast Has Arrived
The image above is an eerily-accurate approximation of what the world looked like to me by the time we found ourselves at the Score, recording our latest podcast. I don't remember what exactly was said over the next couple of hours, but I'll just go ahead and assume it was probably awesome. Thanks to Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus for joining us, and apologies to Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors, who we weren't able to get to.
Thanks, as always, to Joe and Scott from the Score for doing the dirty work. Get it here, or through iTunes.
UPDATE: Oh yeah. Gay Hitler. Strangely enough, I forget about him. Thing is um... well... we were drunk. And we might have mentioned Gay Hitler a couple of times. He showed up on the outline we hastily wrote, and well... OK, here he is. (WARNING: He has some hygiene issues.)

36 rational and reasonable comments:
that picture is fucked up. my head hurts.
at the all-star break, eric hinske has more home runs, RsBI, and a higher OPS than any Blue Jay.
that. is. tremendously. fucked. up.
Is that me or is that picture next to impossible to look at without feeling totally drunk.
parkes' horse noises are insanely annoying
Does she have a sister?
This trivia is making me gouge my eyes out. Or my ears . . . yea, that makes more sense.
Possibly your best podcast ever!!! not even mocking you... that'll come later.
guys, for fuck's sake! that picture is fucked
Oh, and it looks like Hallaaday prefers Cito to Gibby.
"I don't know what it is that's going (to make it) click," said Halladay. "Obviously I'd love to have Gibby but with Cito there's a little bit more accountability for some guys and he talks to them individually, good or bad and I think that's helpful. I think there's a good communication there.
"Players, I think they respect Cito and they also feel accountable. I like that change and hopefully that's something that helps us go in that right direction."
So where do I sign up for the "re-sign AJ, damnit he's our dick" movement???
I am fairly certain JP did in fact comment on the possibility of Snider making the jump before the notion was picked up by McLeod and Wilner. If memory serves correct the idea first surfaced in an ESPN (or ESPN radio) interview with Riccardi after the PIT series in which JP commented that the team would obviously have to consider a variety of options to fix the anemic offense including looking from within to Lind and THE SAVIOR (/sarcasm). If anyone's recollection matches mine please chime in as mass quantities of beer has done irreparable things to my once trustworthy memory.

I think that hits the nail on the head. I always felt Gibbons was too harsh on the players he didn't like but way too relaxed and forgiving with his pets. The players always seemed to be a little too comfortable with bad play. He didn't keep them honest.
Anyone watch Boggs run the wrong way to 1st at the celebrity game after the derby?? Wonder how many beer in his belly??
SEVENTY!!!!
sportsnet was just reporting halladay's frustrated comments with the team and implied that he may want out
i would pretty much kill myself if that were true
re: Boggs....i actually laughed out loud then ran to my laptop to comment on the most recent post.
This game is now worth watching....
btw...read the Globe article on Halladay...bullshit methinks...
josh hamiliton boo yah!
justin morneau boo yah!
...and the Canadian takes the derby....
didnt feel so bad after all the Jesus rambling at the end...reminiscent of a thankful Kanye at the Grammys...

Also, J.P did say after the Pitt series on ESPN that the front office was bouncing around the idea of bringing Snider up.
At first, I freaked over Halladay's comments, but after my reverse boner withdrew from my stomach, I realized.....what in the fuck do you think he's going to say? "Yeah, I'm OK with mediocrity. Winning isn't that important. Rebuild? Sure." Maybe the only surprising (alarming?) thing is how much the stoic Doctor actually opened up about this to a national audience on the game's biggest stage outside the World Series.
The guy is a fucking warrior and the heart of this club, PERIOD. The organization owes it to him to do everything possible to build a winner around him. Before everyone says - great, then fire JP.....how about the fact that Doc sounds like he's still a Ricciardi backer? Then what?
PS - that AJ fist pump loop ALMOST puts me in the "keep AJ" camp. Almost....
this was the funniest podcast yet. tea came out my nose. nice one lads.
You guys should post a track list of all the music contained within each podcast.
I really doubt they are going to trade AJ for long-term prospects now, if they ever were. It would piss off Halladay too much, and the organization's entire goal at this point should probably be to appease him. He might still be traded, though. Just for somebody they could put in the lineup this year or next year.
i spewed the cereal thanks to Parkes noises. fucking great...albeit the trivia was too much of a drag to me...the horse made up for it
Insert 4 eyed oriental joke here
>>>>
Wtf happened to the Dierkes interview? Did you guys just go over time?
This almost seems like a dumb April Fool's joke, but apparently, before every All-Star game, Ichiro goes on some fucking psycho rant about how fucking useless the NL is, inspiring his AL team to victory.

Matt, yeah, unfortunately we ran out of time for Tim. We kind of went insanely over time. He'll be back.
Bored Bored Bored Fucking Bored Bored Bored Fuck Bored Fuck Bored Fuck Fuck Bored.
Well, it's a good thing that you guys spent as much time on the Chairman's quiz. It was fascinating.
A termite walks into a bar and says,
"Is the bar tender here?"
I just stumbled upon the fact the Tony Pena Jr. has an OPS+ of 1. He is 99% worse than the average hitter this year. This absolutely floored me. To the point where I felt it necessary to make a comment on a blog about it.
That would be the same Tony Pena Jr. that the Jays intentionally walked back in April?
I enjoyed this blog post:

Yet another media outlet covering the Wayne story and giving you guys no credit. Bullshit.

The best is that picture of the "Gay Hitler" where it says "Chows Questions: Probably awful, roll with it"
It's funny because they were stinky. He sounds like a dork. Just sayin'
The songs on this weeks podcast are as follows (to the best of my knowledge):
1 - Down On The Street - Rolling Stones
2 - I'm Not In Love - Talking Heads
3 - Mods Et Rockers - Michel Sardou
4 - This Town - Go Go's
5 - Celebration Day - Led Zeppelin
6 - Parting Ways - Pearl Jam
7 - Book Of Rules - The Heptones
These might be off as some of the file names Stoten sent me were a little hard to understand. I threw Parting Ways in there again because a)I Tought "Parting Ways" went well with "Parting Shots" and b) Pearl Jam is the balls...
