David Purcey Fucking Sucks
Holy shit, David Purcey sucks! What a giant turd he laid against the Rays tonight, allowing the Jays to go down to defeat to their division foes in Tampa. Fuck! Where is Gustavo Chacin when you need him??!? In A-ball? So what, that guy just fucking WINS.
Don't go blubbering bullshit about his peripheral numbers. Yeah, five hits, eleven strikeouts, no walks and one earned run over eight innings is pretty good, but you can't take that shit out of context. This is a team sport. So where's the fucking win, guy? That's what you're fucking playing for! Where's the fucking win, you useless sack of shit?
And I mean, how many times is Ricciardi gonna let this chump go out there and not win. Fuck! No wonder this team is fucked if they keep sending out guys like this who don't win. Gah!!!!

because the only other option was a shitty hitting left handed catcher that cito has zero trust in? you don't burn your backup C in the 7th, and none of us know rolen's status. so unless you wanted eckstein there (reasonable), it wasn't THAT bad
Bautista didn't need to pinch-run. I know Cito got questioned for not pinch-running Stairs the other day, but a bat was needed at that point more than legs. Eckstein also would have been a better choice.
Stoeten is so much better than Parkes, glad to see you back.
Do you have any comments about Baldelli pieing Ruggiano (or whatever his name was) in the face during an interview after the game? I thought good teams didn't do that kind of thing.

Don't be stupid, Ari, Eckstein is a WAY better hitter than John McDonald. Cito made a major mistake in that situation, and there's really no reason to defend it. Not that there's much of a reason to bring it up, either though.

I disapprove of the hiring of Cito, but I will defend to the death his right to manage however the hell he likes.
Anonymous: Johnny Mac is a long-term investment. They want him to start hitting. Taking him out of high-risk, high-reward situations is no way to build his confidence at the plate. He needs to learn to sit back and see the ball well. He gets jittery; a man like J Mac should never have to jitter.
With the Jays already quietly focused on next season, getting Johnny swinging the bat is the priority.
Besides: fuck Eckstein. I don't even care if it would have made good baseball sense to sub in Eckstein. I don't even care if he might have won the Jays the game. On principle, I am simply unable to endorse the use of Dumbo over the PMoD.
Simply put, I've easily reached the point where I'm cheering for individuals over the team, and finding small victories wherever I can.
Don't be ridiculous, McDonald isn't ever going to start hitting, and if they are trying to improve him in the way, the Jays are just being stupid as it's a lost cause. In terms of in-game decision making, Cito made a mistake. Period.
As much as the Jays hitters have sucked this yr, I can't bitch at them as much for getting dominated by a pitcher of Garza's quality. It just seems worse because they have been shutout by a buttload of hack pitchers all year.

Pinch hitting for J-Mac there kinda goes against normal baseball logic. Usually you're subbing IN your defense at the end of the game. Cito may have een wondering if it was prudent to get Eckstein in there, tie the game, and then be stuck with Exxx's shitty glove for potential extra innings.
With that being said, I would have ph Eckstein and left him in to DH, moved Bautista to 3rd, and Scoots to ss.
I honestly thought Rod The Bod was going to tie that game in the 9th once the ball left his bat...what an unreal catch...very disspointing loss...great start by The Purcey...
