Happy Lineup Demotion Day
It's expected that Vernon Wells will make his first start of the season this afternoon batting from the bottom half of the lineup.
In honour of Cito Gaston's monumental lineup shift, John Lott of the National Post put together a list of numbers regarding Wells' impotence at the plate so far this year.
Through July 1 this season:
.171 Average with runners in scoring position
.225 Average with RISP and two outs
.223 Average with men on base
.091 Average with the bases loaded
.207 Average with two strikes
.304 Average in his first at-bat against the opposing starter
.238 Average in his second at-bats against the opposing starter
.172 Average at the Rogers Centre

Heard Don Landry mention DJF on the Fan this morning...basically said you guys nailed it w/ the Fake Umps post.
DON LANDRY...OF 'THE BIG EARLY'!
wow that is just plain awful...and i have is rookie card autographed...time to start the fire.
David Delucci up, Adams down. Thus begins his career as a Jay. Welcome. Please Produce.
Andruw Jones..
Is he playing hurt or something? How the hell can a good hitter be so bad? It's like Robinson Cano's first half last year. At least he turned it out in the 2nd half. We will see.
He had a strained left hamstring in the preseason that's the only injury news that Iv'e heard of him this year.. He's just a streaky player, he has never put together back to back .300 seasons and this year he's sitting at .248... It would take a monster second half to turn that around, let's hope he does or else we're stuck with his terrible production and fat contract for a few more years....
He's hitting sixth this afternoon.
It's about MOTHER FUCKING time.
Vernon - you're a multi-millionaire. WEAR A DAMN COLLAR ON THE GOLF COURSE!
But I'm wearing a fancy Nike Athletic Shirt, which I purchased at Champs Sports, for this golfing excursion. Athletic Shirts, as we all know, do not have collars.
Well, gotta go warm up for tonights game. I'm hitting sixth. *frown*
parkes, whats the lineups?
What kind of standard is "back to back .300 seasons" for a career .280 hitter? Plus, batting average is a dumb stat anyway.
".091 Average with the bases loaded"
That is the most embarassing of them all I think.
It's a pretty good standard for a guy that we are INVESTING THAT MUCH MONEY FOR! and yes, batting average isn't nearly as important as on base percentage, want to bring that up for Vernon too ?...Besides my point was that hes completely inconsistent...
hey at least the jays didn't invest as heavily in sub-prime mortage stocks!
Drew
Fuck your WASPy golf assholery right up your pasty fucking ass.
