To be honest, I didn't see that one coming and so when I tuned in to the Fan590 to get the result I assumed the worst as the tone in Wilner's voice suggested he was dealing with some mighty angry callers. Turns out I was wrong, not about angry callers -- I mean that's regardless of us winning or losing, right? But Rzepczynski fucking nailed it for his first Major League win and Lind knocked in his 20th knock of the season. Not bad. But overshadowing all of this of course is Roy Halladay. (Oh, and the fact that we still kinda suck.)
I caught the end of what was an apparent six-minute back-and-forth with a caller who was adamant that Roy Halladay was going to be traded. Wilner cautioned that nothing is confirmed regarding that. And I guess he's right, it seems as though Doc will be gone. And my gut tells me that he will be fucking gone by the end of the season. But really, what the fuck do I know? My gut also advises me to order a larger portion of wings than necessary. It's been wrong before. And it might well be wrong about this.
This morning I woke to a revelation that while the man is here, let's just celebrate that. What makes Roy unique is that he's going to give it his fucking all for the Jays regardless. As long as he's in this uniform, he will play as though this team is his family. Not that he needs to prove himself to any talent scouts out there -- but I honestly think Halladay is playing purely for his team. The opposite of Shea Hillenbrand's mantra if you will. If it's up to Roy, the winning streak starts with today's game and carries us all the way to the post-season. (Fuck, I gotta stop smoking crack on Sunday mornings.)
Do yourself a favour and get to the Rogers Centre or your local watering hole bar that actually plays Jays games and forget about whether this man is staying or leaving -- just watch the Doc work his magic and cheer him on. 'Atta Roy.

That leaves you with Drew, Youk, and Ellsbury as the main offensive threats?
I'm thinking the Yanks take the division, especially if they get some bullpen help. Boston could get passed by TB if they have a bad stretch.
