More Thoughts On Bullshit Ticket Increase
Okay, I'm trying to calm down right now, but I'm honestly in shock. There are so many factors that scream this is the worst possible time to increase ticket prices that it's almost humorous that Rogers Baseball Operations is actually going through with it.
I realize that this only affects a small number of season ticket holders, but that's no excuse to start rezoning price structures for this team's games at this time.
It's not so much the actual increased cost as it is that this decision was actually decided on.
In what meeting was this possibly discussed and considered a good idea? Even when everything is roses and handjobs, announcing ticket price increases is never met with good will from fans, but this is being announced after:
i) More than 15 years of no post-season baseball.
ii) A lost season in which a lame duck GM was kept around by an indecisive President, ultimately leading to a moratorium on major roster moves that would've improved the team.
iii) A massive reduction in payroll.
iv) A new GM being hired who is committed to rebuilding the entire system, which translates into a couple more seasons of asking fans to be patient.
v) Back-to-back years of massive front office layoffs.
vi) Overall fan interest is in decline.
vii) Even the most ardent supporters are beginning to lose faith in this team.
viii) Just coming out of a recession and still in the middle of economic hard times.
Again, in what meeting did the group of clowns that make decisions for this team sit around and come up with this idea?

I'm always dumbfounded when people complain about ticket prices. Nobody forces anybody to buy anything, if you don't agree with the price, don't pay it.
With the last couple of weeks of whiny or ranting knee-jerk assaholic piss-poor fucking blogging, DJF is seriously making me reconsider the whole blogs vs. mainstream media argument.
They increased the price of flexpacks in this area, so it's more than two dozen.
Those seats in the corner are NOT premium and it's a crime to charge that way.
TSG, I'm sorry that everyone can't be as mature as you when it comes to spending their dollars. By your logic, no one should ever complain about the price of anything. Oh, bread now costs $27 a loaf, if it's too expensive for you, don't buy it.

Anyone not upset by a possible ticket price increase very obviously doesn't go to games and is likely a fan of Jamie Campbell.
They would never charge $27 for a loaf of bread, because the market wouldn't support it. People would buy something else.
Probably they sell a disproportionate amount of seats in this section compared to other comparitively priced sections.
Cheap tickets don't lead to more asses in seats, I think we've seen that with the NBA and NHL in certain markets. If the product on the field is shit, people won't watch it no matter the price. If the product is good, people will pay whatever the ticket price is.
Disclaimer: I live in Vancouver so I've been to one Jays game in Toronto in my life.
