And the "standings thingy" the problem is with getting worked up right now and saying, "oh god we're already 4.5 games out, we're doomed" would mean that you're assuming the rest of the season nothing will change and every team will stay the course. Of course that would mean that in the AL the playoffs would be. Boston/Chicago/LAA/Oakland. Somehow I don't think Baltimore will end up second or the Tigers fourth. That's the difference between April and September games, yes they're all 1/162. Just things are gonna change over the next couple of months. Hey, I did some work on this standings thingy. Even though the Rockies ended up in the World Series, they finished 1/2 game out from winning the division. Yes, they played 163 games. But impossible? Nope.(semantics suck)

I never understood the `games more important in September` argument. Uhh, if you don't win now, those games won't mean shit. Also, 2/3 of the league won't be playing for shit at that point, possibly making those games even less meaningful since you or your opponents may have slacking/shitty opponents. Obviously, you can't argue now is more important than September, either, but seriously...1/162 is 1/162.
