not excited about Wilkerson, but we will get him for nothing. Might as well throw him against the wall for the next two weeks and see if he sticks.

Wells and Overbay are showing signs of coming around now. And in the ninth last night we had timely hitting from Rolen, Wells, Overbay and Hill. If we get those guys to start hitting in the clutch more, Wilkerson batting .237 or less wont hurt so much.

Beau,the infield was not drawn in to the point where a suicide squeeze was impossible!C'mon!Guess what a runner was stuck at third for three outs and what happened?They couldn't get him in,YOU USE ANYTHING TO SCORE THAT RUNNER.Do you think Madden expects one?No,so you do it and unsettle the pitcher catcher and score the run.Nothing was done AND they lost the game.

I don't think they're actually all that worried about the make-up of their offense. I think they're pretty sold on a lineup of Rios, Eckstein, Rolen, Wells, Overbay, Zaun, Hill, Stew and Stairs (in whatever order).

They're just not producing where they 'should' be. I think JP is looking for someone to plug in for depth and hopefully a spark to the offense, not a $10M overhaul to the offense.

And I agree, I don't think they're giving Lind enough time.

yaksman, I'm fine with the Wilkerson move simply from a depth perspective (I.e. no bats on bench to PH late in games), but he's not the cure for what ails the Jays. Either JP brings in the bat that makes sense (aka Barry Lamar Bonds) or he decides to ride the pitching and go with what he has.

Note, I wish they'd just shit or get off the pot with Lind. More mashing in AAA isn't going to help his game any, IMO.

Wilkerson is going to make a pro-rated league minimum. That's probably less than 1/10 what Barry would sign for.

They're taking a flier on Wilkerson and hoping that he hits at all better than Lind.

I think it's a decent move (assuming they're resigned to giving up on Lind for this season, as it seems). Wilkerson is a .255/.355/.450 15/60/60 candidate for league minimum.

Overbay is about to go on a tear. His two doubles last night were significant and both into the gap the other way. Wells is given'r. As soon as Rios and hill shake the cobwebs off look out.

As bullshit as the game was last night . .. and as fucking pissed I was . . . we took 5/7 on the homestand.

In addition, our pitching has been phenomenal (except for camp, who's scrotum was invaginated last night).

Wilkerson may be shit . . . and if he is big deal. We cut him loose. It's an avenue worth exploring though. At worst he can look mean.

Is anyone else as suicidal as I am today? Living in Ohio, seeing a game on tv for me is a major event. I endured 8 innings of offensive flaccidness last night, never giving up hope, even though I knew what the outcome would probably be. Vernon's homer = boneriffic, but it would be all too fitting for the game to end 3 - 2. But wait! It's tied! Holy shit. Rios triple leading off the 10th! This game is in the bag! Tied for 2nd! Life is good! No, life is shit. Why can't they get a runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs? It's supposed to be the most fundamental thing in baseball. No one even made contact.
